With the intertwining global art markets today, art collectors are increasingly under the spotlight. Art Stage Jakarta’s collectors' show titled Expose is an exhibition featuring works by leading artists from Indonesia, the region and the world on loan from some of Indonesia's most prominent private art collections. Curated by Enin Supriyanto, the exhibition is a hommage to the spirit of art collecting which was first ignited by President Sukarno and continues today with the new generation of collectors. It underscores the importance of the role of art collectors in Indonesia and how they have contributed to the growth of the visual art scene in the country.
Expose features artworks from the collections of Alex Tedja, Deddy Kusuma, Dr. Melani Setiawan, Rudy Akili, Tom H. Tandio and Wiyu Wahono. They represent at least two generations of art collectors in Indonesia, displaying the different personal collecting preferences through various artworks. The exhibition includes paintings, sculptures, installation, photography as well as works that incorporate the most current state of digital technology and bio-electronic elements.
